Artificial intelligence (AI) is everywhere, but it does so much more than just answer arbitrary questions or help you figure out what to make for dinner. I’m going to explore how to make money with AI using methods people are utilizing right this second to augment their income.
How to Make Money with AI – 10 Ways
1. Create and Sell Canva Templates
Canva opens the door for anyone to make money online without the significant startup cost. People are selling AI templates because there are no manufacturing costs, inventory or shipping involved.
You can sell:
- Single templates
- Template bundles
- Customization services
Successful sellers choose a solid niche, such as real estate agents or fitness coaches and then narrow down their offering to just these individuals.
Validate your idea by seeing if others are selling something similar. Your idea doesn’t need to be 100% on par with what’s selling, so it can still be unique and an adjacent option.
Templates are easy to make. I would use this prompt to make ebook content, business plan outlines, email sequences, social media captions and other great items you can sell. Ask your AI of choice, “Create 30 captions for a fitness coach who helps people lose 10 pounds in 60 days.”
You can and should refine this prompt and use Canva to make the templates.
Where do you sell them? Sites like Etsy or Gumroad are both good options.

2. Build Websites
You’ll find many lists on how to make money with AI that include building websites. Claude is a great choice for web design services, but you do want to learn the ropes a little bit to understand where the HTML, CSS, JavaScript or other coding goes.
AI can help you create similar-looking sites or even revamp existing ones.
You can use AI to help with:
- Coding
- Copywriting
- Design
- Graphics
- UI
Selling web design will require a little work. Ask your AI tool for ideas on how to make your own sales, and ask your network on places like LinkedIn if they need help with their websites. I recommend doing a few test runs before trying to sell websites to businesses to streamline the process.
Refine your prompts for each client and industry to personalize each site.
3. AI Books and Long-Form Content
I like to hire writers for my site because they always put in original ideas and thoughts. But you’ll find plenty of people adding to their income streams by publishing on:
- Amazon KDP
- Apple Books
- Substack
But there has been a major shift on both Amazon and Apple where they de-rank AI content because creators started overloading the platform with bulk books that had little originality to them.
What you can use AI here for is:
- Story ideas
- Editing
- Structure
You can use tools like Midjourney to illustrate a kid’s book, but just be sure that you disclose your use of AI, which is what these platforms require. Long-form content, especially added to a newsletter, can bring in nice income every month.
Add in a podcast and a YouTube channel and you’re a content creator all of a sudden.
4. Create and Sell Designs with Print on Demand
Print on demand is expected to reach $41 billion in sales by 2033. You can use this massive growth and opportunity to start selling on print-on-demand platforms, such as:
- Printify
- Printful
- Teepublic
- Redbubble
You can use a lot of platforms to make your artwork, such as Midjourney, DALL-E 3, Gemini or countless others. Generate your artwork, add it to the store by uploading it and then build out your store.
Creators are selling everything from stickers to mugs, posters and t-shirts that they fulfill through print-on-demand.
AI can help you write product descriptions and also recommend promotion opportunities. Social media works exceptionally well for print-on-demand, especially sites like Instagram and Pinterest.
5. Build Software
Want to know how to make money with AI that can help you bring in high income? Build software. You have two paths here, and each has its own benefit:
- Offering coding solutions to clients on freelance platforms
- Creating your own software-as-a-service (SaaS)
Of course, you can build software outside of SaaS, such as a licensed option for businesses and enterprises. You can use ChatGPT, Claude or Gemini for the development part, but a better option is to try out the vibe coding options, such as:
- Bolt
- Cursor
- Lovable
Reddit is a good option for finding software opportunities. You just need to find the right subreddit for your audience. For example, you may look in the real estate subreddits for ideas for this industry.
A few quick ideas that people have found success with and are an option for you are to create a LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, X or similar post generator.
6. Offer Prompt Engineering and a Service
Prompt engineers are still very in-demand even if it seems like this should be something that everyone knows how to do at this point. You can offer a few options here that people are willing to pay for, such as:
- Freelance prompt engineer that refines prompts for customer service, data analysis and marketing.
- Prompt library development for specific industries, such as real estate agents. Sell a 50-pack of prompts that are hyper-specific to some industries.
- Workflow consulting is another option that allows you to chain multiple prompts together for an entire workflow for the user. For example, AI may write a blog, meta titles and descriptions and even make social media posts for you.
You can sell these prompts on platforms, such as Fiverr, Etsy or Gumroad. If you find your niche and a specialty, you can easily put these sales on autopilot and make passive income.

7. Faceless YouTube Channels
YouTube pays creators well, and if you have enough subscribers, you can make a nice income from AdSense. Building one channel and a personal brand works well for creators who show their faces online, but you can follow what a lot of people are doing in this sphere:
- Build out multiple channels
- Remain slow and steady
- Experiment with faceless channels
You can have AI generate the graphics, text and even voiceovers. But one thing I recommend is adding in the human element. Practice using your own voice and AI as a springboard for ideas. You can even have Claude or one of the other platforms generate a basic script.
Refine the script using your own language and tone.
Continue experimenting with AI and your channel to find the fine balance of what’s working and not working.
YouTube does want you to put effort into your creations and to be authentic. If you use your AI script verbatim, you’ll quickly realize that they all sound very similar.
8. AI-Powered Analysis and Consulting
Data is valuable, which is why platforms like Google and ChatGPT try to gather as much of it as possible. You can sell data analysis or science services if you’re analytically inclined and like working through numbers.
For example, you might want to offer:
- Business intelligence reporting
- Data visualization
- eCommerce optimization
- Predictive analytics
Data visualization is becoming one of the more popular options with the ability to use dashboards, such as Tableau or Power BI, to create interactive dashboards.
Working with multiple tools to perform AI-powered analysis is often the best option and one that provides the most flexibility for your clients.
ChatGPT does have its own advanced data analysis option where you can upload CSVs and receive instant chats back on the analysis.

9. Social Media Management and Automation
Social media makes a lot of people money, but you need to know how to use it properly. Automation and management are an easy way to learn how to make money with AI because you can use AI to:
- Create content calendars
- Automate posting and schedules
- Build out text and video content
You can use AI to assist with the content creation part and then use a platform, such as Buffer or Hootsuite, for the actual posting. Midjourney and Canva AI are two options for creating images and graphics that you can use in your posts.
Runway is a great option for AI video creation.
If you want to use one of the more well-known AI tools, such as ChatGPT or Gemini, you can do so to create your images and videos.
10. Create and Sell Online Courses
Courses are still very popular and make people hundreds of thousands of dollars or more per month. Generic courses have flooded the market to the point that you’ll struggle to make sales for options, such as “AI for marketers.”
Everyone is selling these generic options, and it’s just not as profitable as it once was.
You need to stand out from the competition by doing things differently. A few of the fun options that work well are:
- How solo CPAs can use AI to sell advisory services to their clients
- What small nonprofits can do to improve data analysis using AI
- Self-paced courses for aspiring financial advisors who want to be certified
